Most residential homes are well-covered by 4–8 cameras, depending on the number of entry points, the size of the compound, and whether you want indoor coverage. A typical setup covers the main gate, front door, back door, and any parking areas. We recommend booking a free site survey so our engineer can assess your property and tell you exactly how many cameras you need — at no cost and no obligation.
Yes. All Hikvision systems we install support the free Hik-Connect app (Android and iOS), which lets you watch live footage, review recordings, and receive motion alerts from anywhere in the world — as long as you have an internet connection. We set up and test your remote access during installation, and we walk you through the app before we leave so you are confident using it.
Yes. All of our cameras include infrared (IR) night vision that can illuminate up to 30–50 metres in complete darkness, producing a clear black-and-white image. We also offer full-colour night vision cameras that use built-in white-light LEDs to produce a colour image even in low light — ideal for car parks, gates, and shopfronts where identifying colours (clothing, vehicle colour) matters.
Uganda's frequent power cuts are one of the biggest risks to CCTV reliability. We strongly recommend pairing your CCTV system with a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) to keep cameras running during short outages, or a solar backup system for 24-hour off-grid operation. GEP TSS installs both — ask us to include a power backup quote alongside your CCTV quote for a complete, always-on solution.
Yes. After every installation you receive our direct phone and WhatsApp support contact. Many issues — such as a camera going offline or app configuration questions — can be resolved remotely without a site visit. For hardware faults, cleaning, or system upgrades, we offer scheduled maintenance visits. Ask us about a maintenance plan when you request your quote.
